CROCOITE. Adelaide Mine, Dundas, Tasmania. 20x25x25mm (M466)
Officially proclaimed "The Mineral Emblem of Tasmania" in 2000 by the Governor of the day, Sir Guy Green. Crocoite is a rare mineral (lead chromate) found on the west coast of Tasmania. It is one of the worlds prettiest minerals well deserving of this title as the state emblem. This specimen shows bright reticulated crystals in a gossan matrix.
Specimens are attached to a white base (40mm x 40mm) with clear perspex cover and label.
